Favorite make-up haul for mid year of 2014

I would consider myself a make-up enthusiast, not a make-up hoarder. On a yearly basis, I think my make-up expenses would be around 12K-20K. If you spread it on a monthly basis, that's less than 1700 a month. Trust me when I say that that's a super reasonable amount.

Let's start with my list!

Benefit, Bigger than BB Big Easy

I was never a fan of BB creams after trying Korean brands. I wouldn't even buy this if I didn't get it on sale. The Beauty Consultant was convincing and nice, so that's why I bought it. They weren't kidding when they said that it's medium coverage, lightweight, and has a powdery finish.

Benefit,They're Real Mascara

Volumizing and lengthening. It's not clumpy, and the brush is a miracle to work with. My lashes looks really long after applying this. I loooove it!

Maybelline, Hypercurl Volum Express

As much as I love my They're Real Mascara, I find it pricey. For a product that has a shelf life of 3 mos after opening, I knew I needed an affordable alternative. Maybelline has been a reliable drug store brand when we're talking mascara. This mascara gives lengthens and volumizes my lashes in a more natural looking way. They're Real is better with the lengthening part, but hey, Maybelline is Php349.00 I think? So yeah, SULIT!

Benefit, They're Reak Push-Up Liner

Does it take you more than 10 minutes to create the perfect winged eyeliner look? Are you having a hard time creating the same thickness for both eyelids? Buy this. This solves your problem. It sure did solve mine.

MAC Riri Woo

I love how red and matte it is. Also, every girl needs a red lipstick!

Happy Skin, Eye Am Here to Stay

For those days when you want a soft sweet look, this is the perfect eyeliner for both the lids and undereye. It makes your eyes pop but it doesn't look too strong. I got mine in brown but they also have it in different colors.

Revlon, Colorburt Matte Balm in Complex

Aside from the perfect red lipstick, every girl also needs the perfect nude lip color. This goes perfectly well with Happy Skin eyeliner when I'm going for a soft look. Goes well when I'm wearing smokey eye too.

Let's talk about wakes. Wakes. I don't like going to wakes. Not because I find it inconvenient, but because I know that going to one means that someone close to me lost someone so dear to them.

Sometimes I don't know the person who passed away, but when I see how sad and hurt those they have left, it breaks my heart. It breaks my heart even more when I had the the chancr to meet / know the one who passed away.

This month, 2 of my close friends lost someone who is so dear to them. One lost her child, the other lost her father.

It takes a while to accept and to stop questioning. It takes time for one to realize that we did our best to make sure they stay longer.

Cancer is a bitch. Hospital negligence is a bitch.

I remember when my Grandpa died, I was in 5th grade. It broke my heart. I always felt like I had to throw up. It's like having someone punching me in the heart. The person who taught me how to bike and swim, who went Easter Egg hunt with me left without saying goodbye.

11 years later I felt the same when my Nanay died. The person who'd give me extra baon, go with me to the guidance office when I'm in trouble, the first person I introduced my first boyfriend to is gone. The sad part about that is that she didn't know who I was months before she was gone. Alzheimer's a bitch.

I am just really sad. As a mother, everyday is battle to make sure that nothing bad happens to my daughter. As a daughter everyday is a chance to show your parents how much you love them.

Time can be a bitch, yes. But love and compassion can make up for it if you maximize every moment you spend with your loved ones.

Maybe I should stop.
